Mentoring
Spanish Mentoring for Independent Learners
Learn Spanish independently — with structure and support
Spanish Mentoring is designed for students who want flexibility, but also need a clear system, personal guidance and regular feedback.
There are no live weekly lessons in this format. Instead, you work independently with materials and tasks prepared by me, and I guide you throughout the process.
You choose when you study. I provide the structure, strategy, materials and feedback.
Introductory consultation + first week of mentoring
5-week mentoring package — Basic
5-week mentoring package — Premium
Includes one individual 50-minute lesson for conversation practice.
How does mentoring work?
We begin with a short video consultation so we can get to know each other. I will learn more about your current level of Spanish, your goals, your interests and the kind of support you need.
After that, you receive tailored self-study materials and individual tasks from me every week.
You complete the tasks during the week, and then I review your work, correct it and give you feedback. I also send you the materials for the following week, so you always know what to focus on next.
The tasks are designed to help you practise all language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.
How much time do I need?
The amount of work is designed to take around 1–2 hours per week.
If you would like more intensive mentoring with more activities, just contact me and I will be happy to prepare a tailored offer for you.
Is mentoring right for me?
Mentoring is a great option if you want to keep making progress in Spanish, but need more flexibility than regular live lessons.
It is especially helpful if you do not want to spend time searching for the right materials, exercises and activities by yourself.
With mentoring, you can learn at your own pace, but still in a structured and effective way. I provide the system, strategy, materials, support and feedback.
Mentoring can also be a beautiful addition to 1:1 lessons if you want to work on your Spanish beyond regular homework, speed up your progress or simply enjoy more guided practice.
What kind of tasks will I receive?
The tasks can focus on a specific topic you enjoy or want to improve in, or they can combine different areas of Spanish.
We can work on grammar, vocabulary, videos, texts, podcasts, writing, speaking tasks and more.
Before we start, we will have a short introductory video call. During this call, you can tell me about your goals, wishes and interests. Based on that, I will prepare your first week of mentoring, so you can experience how the format works in practice.
What technical equipment do I need?
You only need a computer and internet connection.
We work in a shared Google Classroom folder. Every Monday, you will receive your materials and tasks there: audio recordings, videos, texts, worksheets and other resources.
You have time to complete the tasks until Sunday.
If you have never used Google Classroom before, don’t worry. I will show you everything during our introductory meeting. It is very simple and intuitive once you get used to it.
How much time will I need each week?
The activities are designed to take approximately 1–2 hours per week.
If you would like to receive more tasks or work more intensively, please contact me and I will be happy to prepare a tailored offer.
Will I practise speaking too?
Yes. Speaking is an important part of Spanish, so you will also receive tasks where you record short audio or video answers.
I will then give you feedback, usually also in the form of an audio recording.
This way, you can practise speaking even without a live lesson.
How can I start mentoring?
Send me an email at kristina.uhnak@gmail.com and we will arrange a short introductory video call.
This call lasts around 20 minutes. We will talk about your goals, your level, your interests and what you would like to focus on.
After that, I will prepare your materials for the first week, so you can try the mentoring format in practice.
At the end of the week, I will review your completed tasks, correct them and give you feedback.
The first week of mentoring is non-binding. If you like the format, you can continue with a 5-week, 10-week or 20-week mentoring package.
What if I don’t manage to complete the tasks on time?
If you do not manage to complete your tasks by the agreed deadline, you can send them later for review, or we can adjust the amount of work for the following weeks.
Is mentoring suitable for complete beginners?
Beginners can learn through mentoring too, but I usually recommend combining it with 1:1 lessons, especially at the beginning.
It is important to build good pronunciation, understand the basics clearly and learn how to react in simple conversations from the start.
Is mentoring suitable for higher levels, such as B2 or C1?
Yes, absolutely.
For higher-level students, mentoring can be a great way to maintain your Spanish or take it to the next level.
With advanced students, we often focus on expanding vocabulary, improving presentation skills, developing more natural expression or working on professional written Spanish.
What are the advantages of mentoring?
Mentoring is flexible because you can study at your own pace and at the time that suits you best.
You receive balanced tasks with structure and a clear system.
You do not need to buy textbooks or search for materials by yourself. Everything is selected and prepared for you.
You also receive support, corrections and feedback from a professional Spanish tutor.
Are there any disadvantages?
Yes — mentoring requires your own effort and discipline.
You are not tied to a live lesson in your calendar, but you still need to make time during the week to work on your Spanish.
I will give you structure, materials and support, but the progress also depends on your consistency.
